One of Michigan’s largest (and fastest growing) driving schools needed an upgrade to their disjointed office systems. Collective Idea jumped at the chance to help bring all their spreadsheets, databases, and files into one web application.

Tourist Information

Clients:: Holland CVB and Shift Design

The Holland Convention & Visitors bureau wanted a modern and exciting portal for tourists interested in coming to Holland, Michigan. Working with Shift Design, we coded a custom system to better manage and present Holland’s attractions and events.

Live Counseling

Clients:: AACC and ViewChange

When ViewChange called on Collective Idea to implement eCounseling.com, we were excited to undertake new challenges including integrating live chat (with code that became Tinder), SMS and 2-tier billing.

School Management

Clients:: Educational Schools of America and The Image Group

ESA needed a way to manage websites for their 100+ schools. Working with The Image Group, we created a custom CMS to manage all of their sites from their corporate site to each individual school.

Part Catalog

Clients:: Century Hardware and The Image Group

Century Hardware needed a way to present their vast catalog of 800+ knobs and pulls online. They desired to display each part with images and searchable attributes. They also needed a way to add new parts to the catalog and highlight specific collections.

Integrated Portfolio

Client:: The Image Group

We developed a database-driven case study site, with a custom CMS for the Image Group’s corporate website. Our goal was to make adding and editing case studies easy to use for anyone in the company. Once entered, case studies are displayed on the Image Group site, fully searchable, organized on-the-fly into numerous categories and industries.

Portfolio Management System

Client:: Bonnette Design Group

Bonnette Design was ready to take control of their website, so they developed a look & feel and we created a custom CMS to manage their portfolio.

Now anyone at the company can update the site without needing outside help, saving time and money. The site was developed in Ruby on Rails with a MySQL database.

Peer Reviews

Client:: The Image Group

While at The Image Group one day, an employee expressed to Daniel that they needed a better system for managing yearly peer reviews. Existing survey methods took too long to setup and were difficult to manage. Later that day, Dan presented a working system that would manage the entire process and output concise reports.

Software Integration

Clients:: Elevator Up and JP's Coffee & Espresso Bar

One of our favorite coffee shops wanted a new & improved website. In addition to a killer design they wanted improved photo galleries and an online store.

Brain-Compatible Instruction

Clients:: Hope College and Ottawa Area Intermediate School District

A group of educators wanted to make a unique, brain-compatible online course for teachers to take from home. We worked with them to determine a format and delivery mechanism. Students can submit their assignments via HTML forms and the instructors review the sumbissions and provide feedback.

Orientation Extranet

Client:: Hope College Orientation

We worked with Hope’s Orientation staff to identify inefficiencies in their program and create a major web-based management application. The application manages over 900 new students, 500 staff members, 300 events, 1400 family members and $45,000 in product orders via check or credit card. We also integrated with the campus database to retreive up-to-date student data.

preVote/SchoolVote

Client:: Project preVote

We developed 2 large web applications for voter education. preVote & Schoolvote aim to increase awareness of local elections by providing candidate profiles and endorsements. The system has seen a number of prototypes, and has launched in select counties with the support of both Democratic and Republican parties.

Management Extranet

Client:: Hope College Dance Marathon

Managing a $100,000 fundraiser isn’t easy, so Dance Marathon turned to Collective Idea to manage their personnel and finances.

Members' Area

Client:: British Motor Trade Association

The BMTA needed better communication tools integrated into their existing site. We created accounts for each member of the Association, allowing them to log in and edit their profile.
