We worked with Hope’s Orientation staff to identify inefficiencies in their program and create a major web-based management application. The application manages over 900 new students, 500 staff members, 300 events, 1400 family members and $45,000 in product orders via check or credit card. We also integrated with the campus database to retreive up-to-date student data.

Extensions of the data led to publishing multiple event calendars on their public site, an order form, and allowing 200 staff members to view their responsibilities. Additionally, we created printed materials from the data, including 2800 name tags, door signs, and multiple event planning forms.

Both private and public sites are written in PHP. Data is stored with MySQL, regularly synchronized from the campus Oracle database. All printed material layouts are created with XHTML and CSS, requiring nothing more than a web browser (except a color printer).
